Suzanne 'Sue' Cestkowski

BESSEMER, Mich. - Suzanne "Sue" Cestkowski, 58, of Bessemer, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 30, 2018, at her home, as a result of a heart attack.

She was born on July 23, 1960, in Phelps, Wis., to Patrick "Bear" and Margaret (Mooroian) Cestkowski.

She was a graduate of Watersmeet High School and Eastern Michigan University. She was a deputy with the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department for more than 21 years. She enjoyed time with her family and her dog, Toby, most of all. She also loved shopping, cooking and the Detroit Lions.

She will be sadly missed by her brother, Rick (Geneiva) Cestkowski of Las Vegas; three aunts, Sissy, Mary and Niecy; an uncle, Armand; as well as 16 cousins, who were also her best lifelong friends, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation for Sue will be on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, E23933 D Avenue in Watersmeet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Father Jeffrey Kurtz as celebrant.

Interment will be at the Watersmeet Township Cemetery.

Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home of Bessemer is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank all of Sue's co-workers in the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department who have been so helpful and caring, especially those who responded to her home to help care for Sue.
