Randal Winn Hulstrom

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Randal Winn Hulstrom, 62, died Dec. 26, 2018, in Ironwood.

Born in Ironwood to Evelyn Joyce (Winn) and Carl Ted Hulstrom, Randy graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1974.

While in high school, Randy was elected master councilor of the DeMolay chapter in Ironwood and of the DeMolay's Upper Peninsula District.

In Ironwood, Randy worked at Hulstrom's City News and the Brookvale Dairy.

Later he moved to Bloomington, Minn., where he worked at Red Lobster, Business Incentives and My Pillow. He also had his own hobby business, Hulbycraft Apple Chips, that he shared with his ex-wife, Jane, until their divorce. In 2014, Randy returned to Ironwood.

Randy enjoyed wood- working and wood-burning. He was a member of the Northwoods Neighbors, was previously active in the Toastmaster's Club, and was a former president of the Carver Lions Club. His favorite football team was the University of Michigan Wolverines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his siblings, Phyllis Carr, Ironwood, Harvey (Carol) Hulstrom, Ironwood, and Norma (Darrell) Mickschl, Bloomington; as well as his nieces and nephews and their families, Kathy (Chris) Syrjanen, Shawn (Tammy) Mickschl, Jacki (Matt) Lebak, Kasey (Ben) Johnson and Brian (Tawnya) Hulstrom; and many friends.

A memorial will be held at a later time.
