Florence Eleanor (Rosi) Anonich

IRON BELT, Wis. - Florence Eleanor (Rosi) Anonich, 93, of Iron Belt, passed away on Dec. 29, 2019, at home.

She was born and raised in Iron Belt, the daughter of Hannibal and Mary (Fossatti) Rosi, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Florence attended the Iron Belt School and graduated in 1944. She then went to college in Stevens Point and Superior, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She was employed in the Superior School District for two years. She then returned home and was employed in the Hurley School District until her retirement in 1989.

Florence married Mathew Anonich on Aug. 25, 1956; and together they raised five children.

She loved spending time at the Rosi Family Cottage on Echo Lake in Mercer. She loved to play cards, knit and cook. She was a member of the Iron Belt Birthday Club, Mellen Golf Course, Bridge Club and was a 4-H leader.

She is survived by her children, Deanna (Steven) Stuhr, and Sherry, Becky (Dick Hartman), Perry (Christina) and Paul (Tracy) Anonich; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim (Helen) Anonich; sister-in-law, Helen Marie Anonich; and other nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mathew in 2007; Mathew's parents; sisters, Frances Rosi Guenther and Esther Rosi Jeglum; and grandson, Andrew Anonich.

A private service will be held at a later date.
