Germaine Marie (Kaiser) LeMoine

ONTONAGON, Mich. - Germaine Marie (Kaiser) LeMoine, 101, a longtime resident of Ontonagon, passed into Heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019.

Germaine was born on April 1, 1917, in Rockland, a daughter of Victor Lawrence and Exilda Agnes (Verville) Kaiser. She attended Roger Clark School and graduated from Rockland High School in June 1934. Following graduation, Germaine attended secretarial school at Ferris State College and earned her bachelor of arts degree from Green Bay Business College in 1938. She was a supporting member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority since 1935.

Germaine was employed by Cohodas-Paoli Company in Marquette for two years. She then moved to Ontonagon to work at the Upper Peninsula Power Company for the next 32 years.

On July 4, 1939, Germaine was united in marriage to the love of her life, John W. LeMoine, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockland by the late Rev. Bernard Linnemann, who also married her parents.

Germaine and Johnny celebrated more than 56 years of marriage before his passing on March 25, 1996.

She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Germaine is survived by her nephew, Joseph Victor Gainey and his wife, Yvonne and their three daughters, Molly Anne, Anna-Marie and Caleigh Mary Catherine. She is also survived by many family members, including dear cousins, M. Genevieve Milde and Rosemary J. Short; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her beloved husband, Germaine was preceded in death by her mother, on Oct. 1, 1954; her father, on Feb. 7, 1960; and a sister, Eleanor Gainey, on Aug. 29, 1989.

Many loving relatives, cousins and friends will miss Germaine's spirited courage and character, thoughtful and kind gestures and prayers. May God bless Germaine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in June 2019.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place next her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery, Rockland.
