BessemerGogebic County Prosecutor Nick Jacobs has brought charges against a fifth person in connection to a Marensico Township home invasion last December.

An Appleton man, 31, is being held in the Outagamie County Jail pending extradition proceedings to Gogebic County on charges of armed robbery, first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, possession of a weapon while committing a felony and being a felon in possession of a weapon.

His name is being withheld until his arraignment.

The most serious charge, armed robbery, carries a potential life sentence.

The announcement of the arrest Wednesday brings the total number of those charged in connection to the December armed robbery home invasion to five.

The owner of the East Shore road residence in the Lake Gogebic area was assaulted and tied up during the early morning hours of Dec. 18 in the home invasion where money and guns were stolen.

Court documents reference silver and gold bars and coins in the various charges other defendants face.

The property owner was able to free himself and alert police, leading to an unsuccessful search of the area and the execution of a search warrant in the city of Ironwood.

Gogebic County Sheriff Pete Matonich said in December the suspects had been believed to have fled the state.

Two of the other four defendants waived their extradition proceedings in the case, while the other two have extradition proceedings pending.

Todd Matthew Norton, 47, and Amber Jo Dorschner, 41, of New London, Wis., were extradited on multiple felony charges after being arrested in east central Wisconsin in January.

Norton was arraigned Jan. 18 and is charged with armed robbery, first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, possession of a weapon while committing a felony and being a felon in possession of a weapon.

Dorschner was arraigned Jan. 16 and is charged with receiving and concealing stolen property valued between $1,000 and $20,000 and conspiracy to commit receiving and concealing stolen property.

Both charges carry a potential maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Both defendants were arrested Jan. 9 in Waupaca County’s New London.

Brandon Scott Luter, 31, of New London is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and receiving and concealing stolen property. The conspiracy charge also carries a potential life sentence.

Heather M. Worm, 36, of New London, is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion and receiving and concealing stolen property. The conspiracy charge carries a potential maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
