Joyce M. Winberg

KENTON, Mich. — Joyce M. Winberg, 72, of Kenton, passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2019.

Joyce was born on Sept. 5, 1946, in Stambaugh, the daughter of June L. (Cottenham) and Herbert Dove Jr. She attended Iron River High School and graduated in 1964.

On Sept. 19, 1964, Joyce was united in marriage to Albert J. Winberg. They made their home in Kenton and were blessed with three children.

She was employed as a waitress and bartender at the Ottawa Lodge.

Joyce was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Trout Creek and a supporting member of the Trout Creek American Legion Post 494 Ladies Auxiliary.

She wanted to give back to her community by being an emergency medical technician for SONCO Ambulance.

Joyce took pleasure in creating greeting cards, sewing, crafting and traveling with her husband. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Al; three children, Shelly (John) Bonin, Kenton, Terry (Valerie), Trout Creek and Denise Pestka, Ontonagon; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jack Dove.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. EST, preceded by visitation at 1 p.m. EST, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trout Creek, with the Rev. Kay Richter officiating.

A luncheon will be served at the American Legion Hall in Trout Creek following the service.

A committal service and interment will take place at the Kenton Cemetery, in the spring.
