Nolan Joshua Hannu

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Nolan Joshua Hannu, 17, of Ironwood Township, passed away suddenly of natural causes Friday, March 15, 2019.

Nolan was born on May 7, 2001, in Ashland, Wis., the son of Joshua Israel and Angela Jane (Abramson) Hannu.

His hobbies included skiing, mountain biking, weightlifting, swimming and making videos. He was an extremely talented photographer who captured many special family memories. Nolan's favorite football team was the New England Patriots.

He was a diligent worker who was proud to wear the UPS uniform.

Nolan had a kind and generous heart. He lit up the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed by everyone.

Nolan is survived by his parents, Joshua and Angela; three sisters, Teia, Savannah and Nevaeh; his paternal grandparents, Rod and Brenda Hannu; his maternal grandfather, Gary Abramson; his maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Olson; his maternal great-grandparents, Gordon and Mary Erickson and Julianna Abramson; his uncles, Naaman (Jane) Hannu and Amos (Tammy) Hannu; his aunts, Heidi (Dean) Warnke, Jocelyn (Travis) Levijoki and Jana (Tommy) Seppala; numerous cousins; and countless friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 21, at 6 p.m., preceded by visitation at 4 p.m., at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, 326 W. Aurora St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Bruce Estola officiating.

A luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall following the service.

A committal service and interment will take place at Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood Township, later this spring.

Expressions of affection in a charitable contribution in Nolan's memory are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Hannu family.
