DAP seeks artists for 'Birch' exhibition

IRONWOOD — The Downtown Art Place is looking for artists to submit their pieces in its next exhibition.

The DAP’s second annual Fine Art Exhibit is titled, “Birch,” according to a DAP spokesperson.

“It will highlight original fine art inspired by the birch tree,” the spokesperson said in a release. “Interpretation of this theme may be broad and work is not limited to representational work. Painting, drawing, original printmaking, sculpture, fiber, metal, wood and mixed media are all acceptable art forms.”

The exhibit is open to artists over the age of 18.

The exhibits will be displayed in the concourse of the Historic Ironwood Theatre from July 9 through Aug. 18, according to the spokesperson. There are monetary prizes for those pieces that are selected for juror awards.

Applications can be found online at downtownartplace.com under the events tab, or at the DAP gallery on Aurora Street.
