In 1975, she settled in Bayfield and became an active member of Betheseda Lutheran Church. During this time she changed her middle name from Marie to Sue and that was her commonly known address. In the early 1980s she studied at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College-Ashland, and went on to work as secretary and bookkeeper for the town of La Pointe and Nelson's Construction through the early 1990s. After her divorce, she moved to Ashland and worked at Ashland Taxi Cab and then became one of Ashland Wal-Mart's friendly greeters, where she recently received her pin for 15 years of service.

She was a kind, compassionate, generous and strong mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being involved with family, her dogs, photography, walking through the bay area, and bargain shopping.

She is survived by loving sons, Jeffrey (Kristina) Spencer of Ashland and James "Jamie" Spencer of Milwaukee; siblings, Donna (Al) Spigarelli of Iron Mountain, Geraldine "Geri" (Robert) Tuma of Ironwood, Dennis (Lynn) Eifolla of Saxon, and Gregory (Donna) Eifolla of Saxon; granddaughters, Kayla and Ashley Spencer, Cheyenne Spencer, and Kaylee and Madison Smart; and canine companion, Bentley.

She is preceded by her parents, Gerald and Emily Eifolla; son, Donald "Donnie" Spencer; and beloved dog, Fluffy.

A memorial service for Emilie will be held on Wednesday, May 29, at the Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland, with Father Ducanh Pham O.F.M. officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until the hour of service.

Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery in Ashland, immediately following the memorial service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Medical Center and Northern Lights Nursing Home for their compassionate care during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and cremation services of Ashland and Mellen, Wis.
