WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Theresa Skoviera, 94, of Ironwood, passed away on July 27, 2019, in Wakefield at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility.
She was born to Dominic and Theolinda (Stella) Alessandroni on March 18, 1925, in Ironwood. She went to school at St. Ambrose. She married Michael Paul Skoviera in 1946 and they had seven children.
She was a great Italian cook known for her hot filled pizza. During her retirement, Theresa enjoyed bus trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin for shopping.
Theresa is survived by her sons, Michael (Nancy) Skoviera, Bob Skoviera, Jeff (Janice) Skoviera; daughters, Linda (David) Matusewic, Dolora Mills, Patricia (Donald) Maki, and Michelle Holm; as well as 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Paul Skoviera; brothers, Gildo, John, Alfred and Gino; and sisters, Romilda Brooks, Rita Barbera and Olga Roverato.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, preceded by a visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Lunch will follow at the Elk and Hound.
Burial will take place at a later date
