A GENTLE breeze sends ripples across Lake Superior at Little Girl's Point Wednesday afternoon.

Ironwood Township - Lake Road will close starting Monday at Little Girl's Point while a culvert is replaced.
The Gogebic County Road Commission announced Wednesday the road will be closed between the day parking area and the boat launch at the Point.
Barry Bolich, the road commission manager, said the box culvert being replaced wasn't one of the ones destroyed in the July 2016 storm that caused numerous washouts on Lake Road at the Point. He said the culvert was undersized and so it was being replaced with a larger one to avoid problems in the future.
The road will closed beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, according to the announcement, with work expecting to last through 5 p.m., Aug. 9.
The Little Girl's Point County Park campground and beach will be accessible from the east, while the culvert is being replaced, and the Oman's Creek boat launch will be accessible from the west via Wisconsin 122 and Lake Road.
