Kevin Chester Padley

BESSEMER, Mich. — Kevin Chester Padley, 55, of Bessemer, died very unexpectedly at home in the arms of his twin brother, Keith, on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019.

Kevin was born on Feb. 1, 1964, in Toledo, Ohio, a son of Chester and Beverly Padley. He grew up in the Toledo area and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1983. As a child, Kevin was an avid swimmer and active in scouting, track and junior achievement.

He worked at Crosby Garden Horticulture Center.

Kevin moved to Bessemer in 1991 and quickly became a fixture in the community. Almost everyone had a good story to share about picking him up hitchhiking. Kevin worked with the supportive employment mobile janitor crew through Community Mental Health for many years.

Kevin is survived by his twin brother, Keith Padley, Bessemer, brothers, Greg (Kathy) Padley, Siena Heights, and Sam (Tina) Bundy, Toledo; sisters, Kathy Bundy, Bessemer, and Kim (Ron) Thompson, Temperance; and many nieces and nephews spread far and wide.

He was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, at 11:30 a.m., preceded by visitation at 11 a.m., at the Lakeside Memorial Chapel, 806 Putnam St., in Wakefield.

Luncheon will follow at Sharon’s Coffee Company in Hurley, Wis.
