Pauline D. Zani

BLOOMER, Wis. — Pauline D. Zani, formerly of Gile, Wis., passed away Nov. 14, 2019 surrounded by her family at Aggie’s Country Living in Bloomer.

Pauline was born Feb. 20, 1934, in the mining community of Montreal to Gabriel and Christian Rowe. She graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley with the Class of 1952.

Pauline celebrated 64 years of marriage with Eugene Zani before he preceded her in death in March of 2016.

Pauline is also preceded in death by son, Gabriel; grandson, Kyle Swetkovich; and brother, Cleo Rowe.

She is survived by her children, Evelyn (John) Swetkovich, Eugene (Rita) Zani and Shauna (John) Eckwright; grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel) Swetkovich, Jay (Amy) Swetkovich, Christine Zani, Sarah Welch, Shawn Zani, Tyler Eckwright and Seth Eckwright; and great-grandchildren, Lily, Luca and Isla Swetkovich, Cole and Caleb Swetkovich, and Jayden, Ashton and Jaxon Welch; sister-in-law, Nancy Rowe; and various nieces and nephews.

Pauline had numerous jobs, hobbies and interests allowing her to befriend all, animals as well as people. Her friendships were many and true, beginning with dear childhood friends, Nancy Nelson Luppino and family. The home on top of the hill was often fondly referred to as the “Zani Fur and Feather Farm” and welcomed everyone. She will be greatly missed by all.

A graveside service with family will be held for Pauline and Eugene and a celebration of life with family and friends will be held in the spring.
