Charles 'Charlie' Hautamaki

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Charles "Charlie" Hautamaki, 88, of Ironwood, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 in Wakefield, Mich.

Charlie was born on Dec. 13, 1930, in Ironwood, the son of Isaac and Mary (Tampio) Hautamaki.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant and worked as an airplane mechanic during the Korean War. He was married to Junette Harding, and she preceded him in death.

Charlie was a wonderful son, husband, father and an amazing brother. He will be truly missed, and he was loved by all who knew him. His heavenly family will be there to welcome him home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Mary Hautamaki; wife, Junette; brothers, Amos and Sulo Hautamaki; sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Ilta (Ralph) Gertz, Judith (Larry) Sobolewski and Eileen Kelley and many nieces and nephews.

Charlie is survived by a daughter, Joni Hautamaki of Orlando, Fla .; son, Jay Hautamaki of Landers, Cali .; sister-and-brother-in-law, Sharon N. and Brian Laabs of Ironwood; and sister-in-law, Dora Hautamaki of Germantown, Wis.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
