KENTON, Mich. - David G. Passmore, 78, of Kenton, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 19, 2019.
He was born Dec. 4, 1941, to George and Dorothy (McPherson) Passmore of Kenton. David graduated from Ewen High School in 1959, attended Michigan State University, and worked on the U.S. Forest service C&M crew constructing the Tepee Lake Picnic Area and Campground.
He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged at the end of his enlistment. David worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Kenton as a forestry technician for more than 30 years and was an avid reader and outdoorsman, never missing a deer season and fishing many lakes and streams in the Kenton area. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and was a supporter of the National Rifle Association.
David is survived by his wife, Barbara (Butman) of 51 years; their two children, John (Heather) Passmore, currently living in Indialantic, Fla., and Heather (Del) Platzke of Houghton; and five grandchildren who he was very proud of, Andrew, Eric and Emily Passmore, and Jodie and Evan Platzke. He is also survived by his two brothers, Rick (Kay) of East Troy, Wis., and Dennis (Gretchen) Passmore of Sugar Camp, Wis .; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hildebrand Funeral home is assisting the family. A private family memorial service will be held in the spring followed by burial in the Kenton Cemetery.
