La Rosa dinner raises funds for spiritual education

February 3, 2020

Ironwood — Once again the community came out to support the Our Lady of Peace Parish’s annual La Rosa Spaghetti Dinner this weekend.

Diners had the opportunity to enjoy a meal of spaghetti and meatballs, and a salad, during the 45th annual dinner held in the Fr. Darryl J. Pepin Hall in the Ironwood church.

Organizers said around 1,200 people bought meals over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

“(We had) a good turnout both days,” said Alison Schlag, Our Lady of Peace’s faith formation coordinator.

The proceeds of the fundraising dinner will be split between All Saints Academy and Little Lambs Daycare, as well as the parish’s faith formation efforts.

“Faith formation would just be any activities that benefit the development of faith for children, teenagers, adults — it’s across the board,” said Schlag, adding this can include a range of programs, trips and other events.

She thanked the many volunteers, including from groups not affiliated with the parish, for their help making the event possible.
