Hurley — The Iron County Board of Supervisors is expected to act on a pair of resolutions regarded planned projects in the county after the county’s forestry and parks committee forwarded the measures to the full county board Tuesday.

The resolutions are a necessary part of the process for many projects the county intends to complete in-house, according to Forestry and Parks Administrator Eric Peterson.

“(These resolutions) give the county permission to complete these projects internally,” Peterson told the Daily Globe after the meeting, explaining they allow the county to comply with a state law requiring three-fourths of the county board approve any projects costing $25,000 or more that don’t involve seeking bids — something that wouldn’t be necessary with these projects as county personnel will be completing the work.

One of the projects involves adding shower and restroom structures to the county’s facilities at Weber Lake near Iron Belt, Wisconsin.

Along with a boat launch, playground and swimming area, according to the forestry department’s website, the county currently has 11 campsites with pit toilets at Weber Lake.

According to the resolution, the county received a $158,456 grant for the project.

The other resolution involves the county’s Trail 17 Cramer Lake Extension project near Pine Lake, which will be funded with a $113,765 grant the county received for that project.
