Curt Matthew Kapugia

BESSEMER, Mich. — Curt Matthew Kapugia, 77, of Bessemer, passed away Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020.

Curt was born on June 28, 1942, in Detroit, a son of Clarence and Valentina (Filippini) Kapugia.

On March 18, 1966, he married Sherry Fay Risku. They shared 53 wonderful years of marriage together.

Curt retired at the age of 55 from a job he enjoyed at Harley-Davidson. He loved filling his day with traveling, motorcycling and woodworking along with a good cup of coffee.

Curt is survived by his wife, Sherry; two sons, Shane and Kyle (Julie); a grandson, Trevor; a sister, Paulette (Jerry) Strelcheck; a brother, Brian; his brother-in-law, Richard Jacobson; several nieces and nephews; and numerous brothers and sisters in faith.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Mary Ann Jacobson; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Faye Risku.

A funeral service led by Wayne Bergstedt will be held Friday, March 6, at 1 p.m., preceded by visitation at 11 a.m., at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, 39074 Section 5 Road, in North York, Wisconsin.
