BERLIN, Wis. - Walter G. Jubeck, 90, of Wild Rose, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin. He was born in Chicago, on April 23, 1929, to Thomas and Louise (Pospeck) Jubeck.
He was a proud World war II U.S. Army veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW. Walter was united in marriage to Della Gabrielson and together they owned and operated Wally & Del's Wautoma Hotel. Wally also owned the Ironwood Motel. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling to Texas and Florida in the winter. Socializing was a favorite pastime, as well as trips to the casino with friends, and senior bus trips with Della.
While in Texas, he and Della managed an RV park, and he worked as a gate guard in the oil fields. Wally especially loved family gatherings, parties, and any time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by: his daughters, Pamela Jubeck-McGaughey of Sussex and JoAnn (Bob) Haese of Wild Rose; grandchildren, Marie, Rob, Joey, Valerie, Elizabeth, Ryan and Jon; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Wally is further survived by his brothers, Albert (Pam) Jubeck of Hubertis and Thomas Jubeck of Waukesha; special friend, Nancy Reimer; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wally was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will follow the service and burial of cremains will take place in the Union Cemetery south of Wild Rose.
