Juana 'Josie' Shamion

ONTONAGON, Mich. — Juana “Josie” Shamion was taken home by our Lord on March 1, 2020, in Ontonagon. She passed away quietly at home surrounded by her family.

Josie was born on June 5, 1937, and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where she met her husband of 55 years, Ronald Shamion. She and Ron moved to Ontonagon in 1970 where his family lived. Throughout her life, Josie enjoyed fishing, dancing and cooking Mexican food with Ron. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and spent time visiting family in Texas. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, playing cards with family and friends, many family trips and most recently spending time at her daughters’ homes visiting, shopping and eating out. No matter what she was doing at home or away, it was always with her family.

She enjoyed and spent most of her time with her family including her grandchildren, Ronald of North Carolina, Nicollette of Ontonagon, Ashley of Ironwood, Adam of Florida, Ryan of Ironwood, Zach of Ironwood, Crystal of Hurley, Wisconsin, Kari and Kelly of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and their families. She also had 13 great-grandchildren who she adored, Ronald, Michael, Miley, McKenzie, Parker, Maeson, Wyatt, Isabella, Brantley, Whitney, Archer, Maggie and Harvey.

Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; she will be remembered with love.
