Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties

Michigan voters cast ballots today

Voters in Gogebic and Ontonagon counties will join others around the state in casting ballots in Michigan’s presidential primary today — with Gogebic County voters also deciding a local referendum issue.

Voters will have the opportunity to decide between voting in the Republican or Democratic primaries, with Gogebic County voters also having the option to select a ballot with just the “911 operation surcharge” question on it.

The yes/no question asks whether Gogebic County should be able to increase the maximum surcharge it can assess each month on landline, wireless and VOIP services in the county to $3.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
