Gregory Jon Eifolla

DULTUH, Minn. - Gregory Jon Eifolla, 60, of Saxon, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, following a battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 25, 1959, in Bessemer Township, son of Gerald J. and Emily Marie (Jacquart) Eifolla. He attended Roosevelt and Newport grade schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood, Michigan, in 1979.

Growing up, Gregory loved putting together his model trucks and cars. When he was older, he learned from working with his father in their garage at home fixing and fabricating small engine repairs. When he graduated from high school, he purchased and rebuilt his first semi and licensed it as "Eifolla's Trucking." He attended the Logging Congress in September 1979.

In 1980, he started working for Stempihar Brothers, where he worked for 28 years hauling gas, fuel oil, and asphalt. In 2008, he became owner-operator of a 1993 Kenworth and started Idle Time Transport LLC. He was proud of his truck driving record of more than 4 million miles without an accident.

Gregory was truly a "jack-of-all-trades," truck driver, mechanic, machinist fabricator, welder and builder. He spent much of his time working in his shop when at home.

On April 17, 1993, he married Donna Buinowski, and she survives. They had 27 years of love, happiness and adventures; and every moment was cherished by both.

Gregory enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, tubing, and most of all cruising on his mainship boat named "Idle Time." Many boating trips were enjoyed with good friends visiting islands, Lake Superior beaches on islands only accessible by boat.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Emily Eifolla; daughter, Kristi Mae Kivi; sister, Susie Emily Spencer; mother-in-law, Mayona Buinowski; brother-in-law, Norbert Buinowski Jr .; and nephew, Gary Spigarelli.

Greg is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Faith (Joe) D'Angelo; granddaughter, Angela Kivi; grandsons, Anthony and Matthew D'Angelo; brother, Dennis (Lynn) Eifolla; sisters, Donna (Al) Spigarelli and Geri Tuma; father-in-law, Norbert Buinowski; sister-in-law, Charlotte (Jeff) Behrendt; nephews, Jeffrey (Lisa) Eifolla, Marc Behrendt, Michael (June) Behrendt, Jason and Levi Eifolla, Brian and David Spigarelli, and Bobby Tuma; and nieces, Tracy Handziak, Terese, Cathy and Barb Spigarelli, and Rene Borowski

10-4 Goodbye, Good Buddy. Thank you for the past 27 years of love, laughs and adventures. I will keep you in my heart until I find you again someday, and we'll be together eternally.

A private graveside committal will be at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood at a later date.

The family has chosen McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home of Ironwood to honor Gregory's legacy of life. You can leave a condolence or a tribute at mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com.
