OCALA, Fla. — Lorraine Lauzon, 84, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on Aug. 26, 2020.
She was born on April 18, 1936, to the parents of Lawrence and Mary Hook. She graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood, Michigan, in 1954, with her beloved friends “The 7up Gang.” She married Joseph Lauzon in 1956, and spent the majority of her life in Ironwood before retiring in Ocala in 1994.
She was an excellent tax preparer, and not only did it professionally, but did taxes for several friends and family throughout her life. She also volunteered for many organizations, including Grand View Hospital’s board and auxiliary, Theatre North, Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala, Brothers Keepers Soup Kitchen, and the Ocala Civic Theatre.
She is survived by her five children, Jerry Lauzon of Ironwood, Cheryl (John) Fairfield of Santa Maria, California, Laura (Brian) Angwin of Morris, Illinois, Joan Treichel of West St. Paul, Minnesota, and Jim (Angie) Lauzon of Bessemer, Michigan; and two sisters, Marlene Hook of Clearwater, Florida, and Loretta Stacey of Ocala; as well as nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. There will be a private family service in Ocala next week, followed by a small celebration of life in Ironwood in the near future.
