Betty Marble Paugh

CHESTERFIELD, Va. - Betty Marble Paugh, 94, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020.
Betty was instrumental in the establishment of the Gogebic Range Band, and the construction of the bandshell in Ironwood, Michigan. She is a retired music teacher from Waterford Township, Michigan, graduating from the University of Michigan. She also worked for the United Way in Ironwood for many years, along with owning the Blue Cloud Motel for quite some time. She briefly taught music at Wakefield (Michigan) High School and was also part of the Gogebic County Victim Services Unit.
After she moved from Ironwood to Wyoming, she taught at Elk Mountain Elementary School and played in the Laramie, Wyoming symphony band.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Chuck) Volz, Barbara (Thomas) Bonacquisti, and Kathy Kirkley; granddaughter, Jocelyn (Troy) Fletcher; grandsons, Aaron (Hailey) Volz, Matthew (Jessica) Bonacquisti, and Nicholas Bonacquisti; great-grandsons, Dreyden Fletcher and Westen Fletcher; and sister-in-law, Jane Marble.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara Marble; siblings, Ralph Marble, Jim Marble, Marie Petrell, George Marble, and Evelyn Marble.
Betty loved life and celebrated through music, playing her piano, and cherished being with family.
Services for Betty will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, University of Michigan Music Department, Gogebic Range Band, or Gogebic County Sheriff's Office Victim Services Unit.
