EWEN, Mich. - Dorothy Pauline Kempainen, 97, of Ewen and Bessemer, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020.
Dorothy was born on March 19, 1923, in Henribourg, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Jennie (Sain) Bezotte. She attended Ewen High School and graduated in 1942.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol (Tim) Pulkas; daughters, JoAnne (Butch) Wolfe and Susan (Robert) Giesen; stepchildren, Steve and Kathy Woracheck, Kathy (Bob) Western, Vivian (Dan) Driskill, Alden Worachek, Michael (Chrysann) Kempainen, Rosalie Kempainen and Sandra Kempainen; 20 grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Amanda (John) Granato; 41 great-grandchildren, including cherished great-grandchildren, Jennah and David Granato; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Alden Woracheck, married in 1966, and passed in 1983, and Walfred Kempainen, married in 1996, and passed in 2006; a son, David Cummings; brothers, Buck (Douglas) Bezotte, Duke (Derwent) Bezotte, Pete (Eugene) Bezotte and Jack Bezotte; a stepdaughter, Janet Chaves; and stepsons, Phillip Kempainen and Walt Kempainen.
A graveside service and interment will be held Friday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. EDT, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Haight Township. The Rev. Ted Trudgeon will officiate.
