Kathleen M. LeBlanc

EVANSTON, Ill. - Kathleen M. LeBlanc, 77, of Lake Zurich, died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, with her family by her side at NorthShore Evanston Hospital in Evanston.

Kathleen was born on Aug. 11, 1943, to Charles and Anna Galamba in Wakefield, Michigan.

In 1989, Kathleen moved to Chicago, the city she loved. She entered Northwestern University where her studies included business administration with a concentration in accounting. This eventually led to her many years in finance at NorthShore Health Systems.

Those that were close to Kathleen knew that she had a tendency to speak her mind and go deep into her own interests and passions. Kathleen loved the arts, travel, food and her small group of dear friends, Cindy, Annamaria and Joan. During her earlier years in Chicago, she worked evenings and weekends at the Chicago Art Institute giving tours and presentations. This led to many hours spent learning art history, especially French Impressionists as evidenced by the stacks of books, artwork and literature throughout her home. Kathleen's travels with her friend, Cindy, led to Paris, Rome, Florence and Venice where she continued to pursue her love of art and cultures. Her travels also led her to Greece where she stayed with her dear friend, Annamaria, who showed her adventure and gracious hospitality. Kathleen loved to talk about Greece and how it was a home away from home.

Kathleen is survived by her sons, Craig (Katie) LeBlanc, of Kohler, Wisconsin, and Jim (Michelle) LeBlanc, of Lansing, Michigan; seven grandsons, Benjamin, Nathan, Henry, Justin, Matthew, Kyle and Brecken; a sister, Frances Laurin; nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and friends; and Craig's golden retriever, Cooper, for which in her eyes could never do wrong.

Contributions for Kathleen will be dedicated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at a later date yet to be determined.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jerald Rocco. Condolences may be expressed online at lakesidememorialchapel.com.
