IRONWOOD, Mich. - Jean Passint, 90, of Ironwood, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
Jean was born to Stanley and Frances Oman on Oct. 24, 1930, in Ironwood, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1948.
Jean married Adolph Passint on Sept. 16, 1950, and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. They have been longtime members of Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood. Jean was a member of WELCA and she helped with funerals, salad luncheons and Christmas cookie sales.
Being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker is where Jean put her energy, with the end goal of creating a happy and loving home for her family. She also enjoyed assisting Adolph with his part-time Ironwood business.
Jean and Adolph spent many of their retirement winters at Carefree Park in Winter Haven, Florida. They enjoyed golfing and the company of their fellow residents. She often worked on social and church activities sharing her many delicious recipes.
Little Girls Point, where Jean grew up, held a special spot in her heart, and was a place she loved spending time with her family. Introducing her grandchildren to their heritage there was very important to her. Campfires on the beach were something of which she never tired.
Spending time with her friends was very important to her, and she very much enjoyed their time spent together.
Jean and Adolph spent many hours cheering for their sons and grandchildren at various sporting events. They also enjoyed watching many dance recitals, musical and church events.
She was one of Michigan State's basketball teams greatest fans. She also loved watching the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Tigers.
Jean is survived by her children, Larry (Chris), of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Randy (Diane) and Jim (Beth), both of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Nicholas (Mandy) Passint, Kimberly (Jesse) Breidenbach, Whitney (Tom) Prestby, Sara (Ryan) Bowe, Courtney Passint, Emily Passint, Michael Passint and Katie Passint; and great-grandchildren, Kayden, Nolan, and Madison Passint and Lewis Breidenbach.
