Eileen Milda Stempihar

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Eileen Milda Stempihar, 91, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020.

Eileen was born on Aug. 19, 1929, in Hurley, Wisconsin to Amund and Verna (Hill) Nygard. She attended Hurley High School and graduated in 1947.

On July 29, 1950, Eileen was united in marriage to Frank Stempihar at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley.

She was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield.

Eileen loved to cook. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren. She loved to entertain with her family and friends. Everyone was always welcome at her home and you never left hungry.

Eileen is survived by a son, Dr. Mark (Michele) Stempihar; four daughters, Valerie (Dale) Gerbig, Nancy (Eugene) Londo, Sally (Irwin) Mattson and Jenifer (Jeffrey) Weisiger; 13 grandchildren, Mark (Doris) Stempihar II, Kelly (Jesse) Tibbets, Robert (Amanda) Stempihar, Dale Gerbig II, Stacie (David) Rooni, Meghan (Mark) Lane, Alexandra (Renaldo) Boetto, Carrie (Greg) Meyer, Eugene (Jennifer) Londo Jr., Greg (Molly) Londo, Quentin Mattson, Kendall Weisiger and Gabriel Weisiger; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband, Frank, on Jan. 15, 2005.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield for their exceptional care of their mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
