February 6, 2021

TUCSON, Ariz. - Lynn C. Riggs, 65, of Tucson, died a happy man on Jan. 12, 2021. He had just purchased his first home, and had recently found the love of his life.

Lynn graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1974 and immediately joined the U.S. Navy and later the Naval Reserves. After aircraft mechanic school, he moved to Arizona to work on the Apache helicopter. Much of his later career was with the railroad as both conductor and then engineer. Fast forwarding to happily retired, Lynn devoted his time to helping veterans navigate the VA system as a volunteer with DAV.

A proud Cherokee, Lynn recently connected with family in Oklahoma and his tribe.

Son of the late Joseph Vann and Edrye Riggs, he is survived by his siblings, Joseph (Jane), Edrye (Tom) Doman, and Amy (Mark) Sperry; he is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Lynn is also survived by his aunts, Julann Griffin, Sally Latchford and Maureen Roberts; and by many cousins.

Gail Hicks, Lynn's great love, has adopted his therapy dog, Kiefer O'Keefe. He loved riding his 3-wheeled Harley. He volunteered as a Patriot Guard Rider and American Legion rider, honoring veterans during their funeral processions. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 109.

A memorial service is pending. If you wish to send a memorial, please consider Theatre North.
