Josephine Ann Kopnick

BESSEMER, Mich. — Josephine Ann Kopnick, 86, went to her heavenly home on April 15, 2021.

She is survived by three children, Mary McCready, Ann Marie Hunt and Joseph Kopnick; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Helen Schaller; daughters-in-law, Renee and Sherry Kopnick; and sons-in-law, Charles McCready and Phil Hunt. She also has more than 60 nieces and nephews to the third generation. In death, she is now reunited with her husband, Andy; her son, John; as well as her large Turkal family.

Josephine was a lifelong resident of Bessemer. She attended St. Sebastian Catholic School and A.D. Johnston High School. After completing her college education at Mount Mary College in Wisconsin, she spent her early adult years teaching second grade. In her later years, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Her serenity came from watching the sunsets from her large living room window on top of Colby Hill.

A private service for immediate family was held on April 20, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church with Fr. Dominic Agyapong officiating. The family was assisted by Lakeside Memorial Chapel. A memorial service is being planned in early July for extended family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 210 E. Iron St., Bessemer, MI 49911.

To Josephine: We are thankful for our time with you and your influence on all of us. We celebrate your gentleness, your unconditional love, your strong faith, your ability to listen, and your kindness to all. We will miss you greatly; we will remember you daily; and we will love you always.

Go with God.
