WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Joyce E. Alho, 90, of Bessemer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield.

Joyce was born the daughter of Peter and Allie (Suanto) Alho on Dec. 9, 1930, in Bessemer. Joyce enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles, playing many card games and liked watching TV game shows. She treasured her trips to the Breakwater Restaurant for hamburgers and shopping at Walmart.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Ann (Thomas) Maas and Penny Verburg; niece, Charlotte Edwards; nephew, Clyde (Connie) Alho; great-niece and nephew, Daniel Edwards and Christie Wolf; and great-great nieces and nephews, Daniel Edwards, Ben Wolf, Aaron Edwards, Ethan Wolf, Zachary Wolf and Rebecca Wolf.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clyde; and her nephew-in-law; Don Edwards.

The family is celebrating Joyce's life on Saturday, June 5, at 11 a.m. with a graveside committal service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.

Joyce's family would like to thank Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield for their compassionate care of Joyce. The family desires any memorials to be directed to the facility in Joyce's name.
