Hurley Chief of Police Chris Colassaco, watches as Hurley K-12 School third-graders Kennedy Thompson, Allison Niemi and Elle Schneller plant daisies and zinnia flowers with Range Master Gardener Zona Wick on Wednesday. Other third-graders and master gardeners planted flowers in city plant boxes along Silver Street as a collaboration of UW Extension, the city, school district, Giovanoni True Value Hardware and Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce that provided hot dogs and snacks for the kids. Hurley fourth-graders planted flower boxes in Montreal on Tuesday.
