Marjorie Ellen Voigt

TROUT CREEK, Mich. — Marjorie Ellen Voigt, 81, of Trout Creek, died peacefully at home with family by her side on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021.

Marjorie was born on Oct. 23, 1939, the daughter of Ellen and Walfred Perttula Sr.

On May 20, 1959, she was married to Emmanuel Voigt at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trout Creek.

Margie, as many knew her, was a woman of many words with lots of spunk and no filter. Her life was dedicated to her faith and family, and she was happiest when her house was full.

With coffee in hand like the true Finn she was, she could conquer anything the day threw her way. Her quick wit, sass and Sisu live on in her large extended family.

Margie is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Emmanuel; five children, Pamela Aho, Mark (Nancy) Voigt, Michael Voigt, Amy Voigt (Don Greene) and Matthew (Deana) Voigt; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, S. Gerald Perttula; two sisters-in-law, Frances Perttula and Barbara Morrison-Perttula; and many other loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Andrew Aho; three brothers, Walfred Jr., David and Jay; and her sister-in-law, Catherine Perttula.

The family is honoring her life in a private funeral service. The Rev. Kay Richter will officiate.

Interment will take place at Trout Creek Cemetery in Trout Creek at a later date.

Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield, is assisting the family with their arrangements. Condolences may be expressed online at lakesidememorialchapel.com.
