Ida Marie Johnson

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Ida Marie Johnson, 73, of Wakefield, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at her home.

Ida was born on Aug. 21, 1948, in Wakefield, a daughter of Edward Eino and Edna Geraldine (Ziegler) Johnson.

Ida was employed by the Department of Natural Resources and the state of Michigan.  

For more than 27 years, she proudly served her country as a master sergeant and was in the 148th Fighter Wing - Minnesota Air National Guard.

Ida loved to cook, take care of her flower gardens and spoil her brother's dogs.

Ida is survived by four brothers, Tim Johnson, Ontonagon, Waino Johnson, Ironwood, Cliff Johnson, Babbit, Minnesota, and Edward "Butch" Johnson, Duluth, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Robert, Charles, George and Dale; and a sister, Geraldine.

Out of respect for Ida's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

Interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
