Florence Trier

MADISON, Wis. - Florence Trier, 84, passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2020, at home in Madison after a long illness, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Montreal, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (D'Andreis) Pasqualucci. She attended local schools and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1953. Florence married James Trier in Montreal on July 14, 1956.

A generous and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Flo made every person she met feel special.

Never afraid to speak her mind, Flo did so with intelligence, wit, and humor.

She told the best stories.

Her homemade cookies, "Wheat Thins," fudge, and Chex mix were legend.

She was, without a doubt, one of a kind.

Flo continues to be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by: two sons, James (Lori) Trier of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Ryan (Sandra) Trier of Madison; one grandson, Joseph; two granddaughters, Sara and Evan; and one brother, James (Elaine) Pasqualucci of Green Bay.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers and two sisters.

On Oct. 23, 2021, a Memorial Service will be held at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood, Michigan, at 11 a.m., preceded by a visitation starting at 10 a.m. A gathering to celebrate Florence's life and the love so many had for her will follow at 1 p.m. at the Elk & Hound Restaurant in Ironwood.

Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hurley.

Throughout her life, Florence was a firm believer in the importance of education and was passionate in her support of her hometown school district. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to the Hurley Education Fund.

The family has chosen McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home of Ironwood to honor Florence's legacy of life. You can leave a condolence or a tribute at mckevitpatrickfuneralhome.com.
