Margaret Ann 'Peggy' (Ahola Gibson) Codd

SHAKOPEE, Minn - Margaret Ann "Peggy" (Ahola Gibson) Codd passed away peacefully on Oct. 30, 2021, with her family around her at her daughter's home in Shakopee, Minnesota. She was born the daughter of Howard and Liana Ahola on June 4, 1937, in Detroit.

Peggy grew up in Bruce Crossing, Michigan, married Raymond Gibson and had three children. After Raymond's passing Peggy married Thomas Codd and had four children. Her first and foremost passion was being a mother. She was an active member in her community, a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, served as the Stannard Township clerk, kitchen beautician and finally "retired" as a cook at Tulppo's Restaurant.

She embodied the virtue of hospitality, opening her home to everyone, including would-be strangers who were treated like family. Some of the things she loved included league bowling, golf league, ladies' luncheons, picnics at Lake Superior, fires in the back yard and most of all time spent with family and friends. Later in life she and Tom enjoyed winters at their home in Barefoot Bay, Florida.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Codd; six children, Bruce (Kay) Gibson, Cathy (Bob) Munoz, Tom (Tammy) Gibson, Mathew (Sheri) Codd, Michelle (Mike) Mulligan and Marshall (Christina) Codd; 15 grandchildren, Tara (Jimmy) Larson, Joshua (Nicole) Urbis, Maxwell (Jacque) Munoz, Morgan Munoz, Jennifer Gibson, Trevor (Kendall) Gibson, Taylor Gibson, Alex Sablan, Ryan Codd, Madison Mulligan, Morgan Mulligan, Michael T. Mulligan, Odin Codd, Marek Codd and Lila Codd; and five great-grandchildren, Klara Urbis, Olivia Munoz, Landon Sablan, Briley Joe Sablan and Keone Sablan; brother, Ken (Bette) Ahola; step-brother, Andy Pietila and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lina (Koistinen) Ahola; step-mother, Marie Ahola; first husband, Raymond Gibson; sister, Joan Nashland; step-brother, Garland Pietila; step-sister, Helen Doll; son, Marcus Codd; grand-daughter, Jessica Urbis; grand-daughter, Nicole Gibson; and a great-grandson, Kingston Gibson-Hall.

She was kind, caring, dependable, strong, thoughtful, had a positive attitude, a sense of adventure and perseverance in every aspect of life. She had a heart of gold - she loved everyone and everyone loved her and she will be missed by all who knew her.

A time of sharing memories and celebrating Peggy's life will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at Twilly's in Bruce Crossing. A memorial service and burial will be scheduled for the spring or summer of 2022.
