WATERSMEET, Mich. - Charles Dennis Fox, "Bezhig Miigwan" "One Feather," 81, of Watersmeet, passed away on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021. Charles was born May 19, 1940, in Crandon, Wisconsin, the son of Charles W. Fox and Sarah I. Poler.
After graduating high school, Charles served in the U.S. Navy.
He continued a formal education and obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He spent many years working as an AODA counselor for the Sokaogon Chippewa Community.
Charles is survived by his ex-wives, Valerie Nahbahkah and Joy Harper; vife, Terry Fox; daughters, Kerry Fox, Crandon, Terri Edwards, Crandon, and Anna Sheppard, Moorhead, Minnesota; sons, Charles Fox III, Madison, Wisconsin, Brian Fox, Crandon, Chris Fox, Des Plains, Illinois; 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma Landru, Crandon, Nancy Kane, Crandon, Maxine Treadeau, Crandon, Marilyn George, Monico, Wisconsin, Virginia Poler, Crandon, Peggy Fox, Crandon, and Vikki Fox, Crandon; and brothers, Clayton Fox, Crandon, and Clinton (Paula) Fox, Crandon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Craig Fox and Kevin Wagnitz; sisters, Maureen Zarda, and Ernestine Diver; and brothers, Craig Fox, Clement Fox, Chester Fox, Clifford Fox and Willard McGeshick.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Mole Lake Cultural Center in Crandon with Joe Daniels officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8. Burial will be at Mole Lake Tribal Cemetery.
