Cindy Grace Nelmark

MELLEN, Wis. - Cindy Grace Nelmark, 63 of Mellen, (Cozy Valley) passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.

Cindy was born April 29, 1958, in Ironwood, Michigan, the daughter of Peter John Kaseno and H. Barbara (Schlichting). Cindy married the love of her life, Terry Reynold Nelmark, on June 12, 1978, and made Mellen (Cozy Valley) their home.

Guided by her faith and dedication to her family she was a devoted homemaker whose happiest moments were being surrounded by family. She was a homemaker who was a mother to everyone who knew her. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Mellen.

Cindy had many hobbies and talents including crafting, gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, canning and wreath making, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She was selfless, giving and had a heart of gold. She made everyone feel special and was a blessing to all that knew her. She loved and treasured her family. Family was everything to her.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Terry Reynold Nelmark; mother, H. Barbara Lubecke (Schlichting), Mellen in the summer, Florida in the winter; daughters, Jennifer Peters (Jamie), Mellen, Katie Stricker (Jeremy), Mellen, LeAnna Routheaux (Tim), Ontonagon, Michigan, and Coreina Stricker (Bryan), Highbridge; son, Peter Nelmark (Ashley), South Carolina; sisters, Joanna Kulik (Tom), Ashland, and Sheila Wiener (Todd), Clam Lake; brothers, Peter Kaseno (Teresa), Minnesota, Duane Kaseno (Karla), Random Lake, Brad Kaseno (Robin), Washington, Kevin Kaseno (Joy), Mellen, and Keith Kaseno, Glidden; stepbrother, Father Christopher Lubecke of Louisville, Kentucky; stepsister, Joelle Evans (Randy), Washburn; grandchildren, Colton Nelmark, Mykaila Peters, Luke Peters, Emily Peters, Reagan Peters, Hank Peters, Braxten Anderson, Marques Anderson, Harley Anderson, James Stricker, Triston Nelmark, Austin Legault, Fiona Routheaux, Scarlett Stricker and Silas Stricker; and furry friend and companion, Esther.

She was preceded in death by her father, Peter John Kaseno; and stepfather, Leonard Lubecke.

There will be a celebration of life for Cindy at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen.
