Delores Mae Trolla

HURLEY, Wis. - Delores Mae Trolla, 91, a longtime resident of Hurley, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, with family members at her side.

Delores was born on May 27, 1930, in Ironwood, Michigan, a daughter of William and Luella (Manchester) Ludlow. She attended Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood and graduated in 1948.

On July 26, 1948, Delores was united in marriage to William Anthony Trolla at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley.

For many years, she and her husband owned and operated Trolla's Meat Market in Hurley.

Delores was an active member at St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a meticulous homemaker and loved her family unconditionally.

Delores is survived by five children, Dianne Trolla (Butch Erspamer), William Trolla Jr. (Sue), Marilee (Michael) Livingston, Joann (Joe) Smoczyk and Nancy (Chris) Dary; 14 grandchildren, Nicole (Paul) Samardich, Ryan (Lisa) O'Leary, Christy (Felton) Hebron, Carrie (Jon) Wheatley, Joseph (Katie) Trolla, Dominic (Stacey) Trolla, Joshua (Brittany) Trolla, Travis Trolla (Kelli McDonald), Chad (Carol) Johnson, Heather (Scott) Wallin, Amanda (Mark) Peterson, Alissa (Josh) Oliver, Jordan Smoczyk (Noah Clark) and Matthew (Payton) Dary; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Ludlow; a sister, Joyce (Donald "Harpo") Niemi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William Sr., on April 9, 2000; an infant son, Joseph; a brother, Donald Ludlow; a sister, Audrey Hill; and her four-legged companion, Kali.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 Iron St., in Hurley, with the Rev. Hrudaya Raju Sunkara, celebrant.

A luncheon will be served at the Iron County Senior Center, 308 3rd Ave., South, in Hurley, following the Mass.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hurley, in the spring.
