Deb Aspinwall

BESSEMER, Mich. - Deb Aspinwall, 57, of Bessemer, passed away unexpectedly in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022.

Deb was born on Nov. 28, 1964, in Frankfurt, Germany, a daughter of Jim and Kay (Baluha) Paremsky. She was raised in Ironwood, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1982. While Deb was in school, she participated in band, jazz band and marching band.

Deb continued her education at Gogebic Community College and then Northern Michigan University and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in medical technology.

After working as a med tech in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Green Bay, Wisconsin, Deb moved back to Ironwood, where she married Dennis P. Aspinwall on Sept. 3, 1994.

Upon moving back to Ironwood, Deb continued her lab career at Grand View Hospital for more than 20 years before accepting a position in the Allied Health Department at Gogebic Community College. Then, Deb ventured out as a traveling med tech at Marshfield Medical Center–Ladysmith, where she accepted a full-time position and worked until her passing.

Deb loved dragonflies, cats, reading books, long walks, hosting yearly Christmas dinners and attending her two sons' extracurricular school activities. She loved to travel, especially to Scotland and Door County, Wisconsin. Deb made the best spaghetti sauce ever.

Deb is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; two sons, Dennis Ian, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Andy (fiancée Kelsey), Mt. Pleasant; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rosie and Denny Aspinwall, Bessemer; numerous cousins and relatives; and her latest cat, Ezra. She had a faithful group of friends that she cherished spending quality time with.

She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Kathy; her grandparents, Gert and Frank Baluha, and Cel and Charlie Tirpik; her brother-in-law, Jim; and many aunts and uncles.

Deb is now in heaven with her three little angels.

Memorials can be made in Deb's memory to the Hope Animal Shelter, Box 261, Ironwood, MI 49938, or the Ronald McDonald House Charities, 8948 W. Watertown Plank Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53226.

A gathering will be held in early summer at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer, with a luncheon to follow. Her husband and sons will hold a private remembrance in Door County in the late summer.
