Elizabeth J. 'Dee Dee' Soderman

HURLEY, Wis. - Elizabeth J. "Dee Dee" Soderman, 79, a lifelong resident of Hurley, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022.

Dee Dee was born on April 21, 1942, in Ironwood, Michigan, a daughter of Albert "Abba" and Betty (Erspamer) Constantini. She attended J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley and graduated in 1960.

On June 25, 1966, Dee Dee was united in marriage to George A. Soderman in Melrose Park, Illinois. They were blessed with two sons.

Dee Dee was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley. She was an avid golfer and throughout the years won multiple championships. Dee Dee was a member of the Eagle Bluff Golf Club in Hurley, the Gogebic Country Club in Ironwood and the Pine Lake Country Club in North Fort Myers, Florida. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in North Fort Myers for 15 years.  

Dee Dee is survived by two sons, Robert (Sarah), Ironwood, and Dennis (Michele), Montreal; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Jen) Soderman, Ironwood, Maria (Scott) Schey, Saxon, Tim Soderman, Ironwood, Amanda (Connor) Drier, Montreal, and Abbi Lundgren (fiancé Davis Ninmer), New Holstein; 13 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Garrett, Eden, Loralie, Rowan, Jensen, Korbin, Bastion, Devin, Cade, Chole, Carson and Levi; a brother, Robert (Cheri) Constantini, Hurley; many nieces and nephews; and her four-legged companion, Victor.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, George, on March 6, 2016; a very special aunt, Dorothy Becker; and her two four-legged companions, Zander and Tipper.

Out of respect for Dee Dee's wishes, cremation will take place.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 Iron St., in Hurley, with the Rev. Hrudaya Raju Sunkara, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hurley, in the spring.
