Deborah Faye Teikari

PAYNESVILLE, Mich. — Deborah Faye (nee Cronkright) Teikari, 69, of Paynesville, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, following a very brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Deborah was born on March 31, 1953, in Ontonagon, to her parents Daniel and Jean (Pittsley) Cronkright of Trout Creek. She attended Trout Creek School.

Deborah married Daniel Teikari in 1990, and they made their home in Paynesville.

Debbie, as she was affectionately known, worked as a bartender, and then as a cook at the Lac Vieux Desert Resort and Casino in Watersmeet until her retirement.

Debbie enjoyed fishing with her husband and riding four-wheelers with their friends, known as the Helsinki Angels, but her family was the most important part of her life.

Debbie leaves behind two daughters, Linda Maki, Marquette, and Patty McGeshick (David), Watersmeet; four grandchildren, Ashley Cottenham (Charlie), Wakefield, Danielle Pietila (Matt), De Pere, Wisconsin, Cory Dickman, Dickinson, North Dakota, and Bobby Peltola, Appleton, Wisconsin; a great-grandson, Garrett Micheletti, De Pere; two sisters, Shirley Lindsey (Charles), Newberry, and Cindy Cronkright (Al Mitchell), Marquette; two brothers, Joseph Cronkright, Trout Creek, and Kevin Cronkright, Iron River; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Danny; and a sister, Joanne Cronkright.

A celebration of Debbie’s life with a luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 9, from 1-4 p.m., EDT, at the Trout Creek American Legion.

Interment will take place next to her husband at the Paynesville Cemetery in the spring.
