As the sun and warmer temperatures melt the sheets of ice covering the inland lakes in northern Wisconsin, many outdoor recreation enthusiasts are starting to take their boats and kayaks out on the water for the first time since the 2021-2022 winter season.

The general inland fishing season begins in Wisconsin on Saturday.
