WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Keith Mattila Sr. left this world on May 5, 2022, at the age of 58.
Keith loved fishing, hunting, his family and was always bringing a smile to anyone's face. He was a carpenter by trade, but would learn to do anything if it helped others. Keith loved his trips to Hawaii and being warmed by the sun all day.
Keith is survived by his wife, Renee Mattila; four children, Jennifer (Matthew) Verdick, Keith (Rose) Mattila Jr., Nichole (John) Armata and Chad Marten; eight grandchildren, Adalida Verdick, Locklan Verdick, Aria Mattila, Lincoln Mattila, Chloe Armata, Jace Armata, Emma Doney and Carter Marten; mother, Ruby (Richard) Brackney; mother, Carole Mattila; mother-in-law, Patricia Singleton; and five brothers and sisters, Ted Mattila, Clifford (Duck) Mattila, Mike (Violette) Mattila, Rebecca (Joe) Buchko and Jeff (Karen) Begalle.
Keith is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Mattila; and sister, Debra Granato (John).
Keith will be deeply missed by his friends, family and everyone who had the opportunity to know him. He will forever hold a place in our hearts.
The celebration of life took place at the American Legion on May 7, 2022. A military service will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota on Friday May 27, at 10 a.m.
