William 'Bill' D. Butelewski

KAUKAUNA, Wis. - William "Bill" D. Butelewski, formerly of Kaukauna, age 80, died peacefully on June 25, 2022, at St Paul's Elders Services in Kaukauna.

Bill was born on April 28, 1942 in Appleton to Raymond and Wilma (Cotter) Butelewski. Soon after graduating high school, Bill met Sandra Weyenberg and the two were married on Sept. 30, 1967.

Bill spent 26 years working for Thilmany Papers and upon retirement he and Sandra built their dream log cabin on Bass Lake in Watersmeet, Michigan. An avid fisherman, Bill spent time fishing for "the big one" on the lake, in rivers near and far and even in the ocean. They were avid travelers and visited many states in the United States, various countries in Europe, and Australia. Hunting was a passion for Bill and he shared that passion with his wife during their 53 years together.

Bill is survived by his sisters, Judy Hameister, Sue Steeps, Gail Weber and Terri Taggart; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Karen) Weyenberg, Bob Managan and Jerold "Moonie" (Mary) Danke, and sisters-in-law, Maxine (Vernon) Newhouse and Glenda (fiancé LeRoy Brockman) Kufner. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, friends and other family members.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Sandy; his sweet dog, Tasha; his parents, Raymond and Wilma; sister, Diane Managan; brothers in-law, John Hameister and Jim Kufner; and sister-in-law, Donna Danke.

A memorial Mass is soon to be scheduled for Bill. Please check Bill's page at wichmannfuneralhomes.com for additional information or to share a memory.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. Paul Elder Services and Hospice for their love and care. As Bill would say, "Thank YOU."

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating the planting of a tree in Bill's name or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his memory.
