Christine Mae Tauer

BESSEMER, Mich. - Christine "Tina" Mae Tauer passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, July 7, 2022. She was born in Bessemer to Joseph and Leona Tauer of North Bessemer and remained in Bessemer most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John, of Bessemer, and David, of Hurley; one nephew, Jonathan; one great-niece, Bree; and three sisters-in-law; Donna, Billi and Lois.

Christine is survived by two sisters, Mary, of Hurley, and Theresa (Mark) Soine, of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; six brothers, Michael, of Wakefield, Roman, of Ironwood, Joseph, James, Charles and Walter, of Bessemer.

Christine graduated from Wakefield High School in 1977. She worked for Dairyland Resort in Manitowish and Ironwood Products in Bessemer before her eye site deteriorated. Even with her disabilities, she managed to put one foot forward and push through life. Her biggest pastime was playing bingo and she really missed playing when COVID shut everything down. She also loved going to the casinos, putting puzzles together and going out to eat.

Interment will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer, with a gravesite service on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. Pastor Sean Brizendine will officiate.
