Frances Arlene Johnson Callovi

RAMSAY, Mich. – Frances Arlene Johnson Callovi, 93, a longtime resident of Ramsay, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022.

Frances was born on Oct. 16, 1928, in Odanah, Wisconsin, a daughter of Frank and Frieda (Wietrzykowski) Rohn.

On June 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Arthur F. Johnson. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1966.

On Sept. 28, 1968, Frances married Victor L. Callovi. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2010.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Arthur Johnson, in 1944; her son-in-law, David Lee Fisher, on Nov. 8, 1989; and her siblings, Jenny, Daniel, Ann, Bernice, Josephine and Dorothy.

Frances is survived by a daughter, Florence “Cookie” Fisher, Ramsay; four cherished grandchildren, Daniel (Dinara) Fisher, Jackie Frello (Bill Krantz), Ardis (Patrick) Perez and Jamie (Kelly) Fisher; eight precious great-grandchildren; six dear great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Mike Keating.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.

Interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.

She and Arthur are now playing their polkas together.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frances’ name to the Regional Hospice Services and Palliative Care, 216 E. Aurora St., Ironwood, MI 49938.
