Carole Ann Hanneman

SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. - Carole Ann Hanneman (nee Kurpewski), age 74, of Sun City West, passed away on Nov. 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.

Carole was born on Jan. 4, 1948, in Ironwood, Michigan, to Joseph and Helen (DeFelice) Kurpewski. She graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1966, and attended Gogebic Community College. She moved to the Milwaukee area and met the love of her life, Enfreid "Fred" Hanneman, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Carole worked for Chr. Hansen Laboratories, located in West Allis, Wisconsin, for 25 years. She worked a variety of positions within the company, working mostly as their customer service manager. She traveled abroad on several occasions to Copenhagen, Denmark, the headquarters of Chr. Hansen Laboratories.

In 2009, Carole and Fred moved to Arizona to enjoy retirement in the sunshine. Carole had a passion for interior design and home decorating. She loved to travel and was an avid reader. She also was a member of her local jewelry making club where she used her creativity to make one of a kind beaded jewelry creations. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her unique recipes with others. Carole had a strong faith in God and the power of prayer.

Carole was preceded in death by her father, Joseph; her mother, Helen; and her husband, Fred. She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Milazzo, Sun City West; her brother Robert Tuma (Geri), Ironwood; nieces, Gina Milazzo, Surprise, Arizona, and Rene Borowski, Wheeling, Illinois; nephew, Bobby Tuma, Ironwood; cousins, Clarice Lewis, Ironwood, and Suzie, Dominic and Jacob Graziano, Greenfield, Wisconsin; lifelong friends, Joellyn Alleva, Red Wing, Minnesota; Sue Hurst, New Berlin, Wisconsin; and Virginia Anderson, St. Paul, Minnesota.

A funeral service and interment was held at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Nov. 17, 2022, with Pastor Tom Griffey officiating.

The family wishes to thank caregivers, Maria, Shae, Victoria and Claudette at Brookhaven Assisted Living in Surprise, for their diligence, compassion and love. These "angels on earth" truly made a heartbreaking time easier.
