BESSEMER, Mich. - Michael Anthony Servia, 64, of Bessemer, died suddenly on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022.
Michael was a graduate of A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, and he retired from the United Parcel Service in 2020. He worked at UPS for more than 40 years. Prior to working at UPS, he worked alongside his family at Stan's Big Dollar.
Michael was an amazing, kind, selfless and loving man. He was a loyal father, brother and friend to many. Michael could fix anything! He enjoyed being outdoors kayaking and boating on the local lakes. In the winter, you could find him on the ski hill or snowshoeing. He will always be remembered as the one who was always there to give a helping hand, not expecting anything in return.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth; a sister, Carol (John) Schuster; a brother, Daniel (Judy); his companion, Jean; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Loretta; his dad, Stanley; a brother, Gerald; and his stillborn twins, Jacob and John.
At Michael's request, cremation will take place. There will be no visitation.
Michael Anthony Servia will be remembered at a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 210 E. Iron St., in Bessemer, with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong presiding.
Interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Servia Family Memorial Scholarship at Gogebic Community College Foundation, E4946 Jackson Road, Ironwood, MI 49938.
