Lillian Jean Yablonski

CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. — Lillian Jean Yablonski, 86, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.

Lillian was born in Vulcan, on May 3, 1936. The daughter of the late Herman and Vivian (Trudell) Hupp. She was married in October 1954 to Alois Yablonski, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Lillian was 8 years old when the Hupp family moved to Watersmeet. Being the youngest child, her siblings always joked, “We took care of you as a youngin’, now you have to take care of us.” So when needed, Lillian would drop everything to be by their side. In their elder years, Lillian and three sisters were all living in the same nursing home facility.

Lillian had many interests, including crocheting, painting, beading and baking. The family’s favorite was her lemon meringue pie. Lillian’s favorite hobby was making Christmas wreaths. She would spend hours in her garage perfecting beautiful balsam wreaths for the holidays.

Lillian’s joy was her children and grandchildren. Every time they would stop at her house, it would put a smile on her face.

Lillian is survived by her two daughters, Kathie (Michael) Urbis, of Ewen, and Sandra Yablonski, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; one son, Milton (Karen) Yablonski, of Watersmeet; seven grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, Meagan, Heidi, Hope, Ryan and Karly; seven great-grandchildren, Alois, Julius, Gatlin, Caymin, Ella, Liam, Reese, Emmette and Sutton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Milton Hupp, Walter Hupp, Alvina Wall, Rose Haluska, Claudine Wasson, Loraine Panti and Annabell Dellies.

In accordance with Lillian’s wishes, private services will take place in the spring.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Iron River Hospital and the staff of Iron County Medical Care Facility for all their care and compassion.
